Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, of notes, primarily extracted from published works, on scientific experiments, historical religious practices, libraries, editions of various works, and other bibliophilic matters. The texts include copies of extracts from A Saxon Treatise Concerning the Old and New Testament; Bentley's Dissertation upon the Epistles of Phalaris, Themistocles, Socrates, Euripedes, and Aesop's Fables; and The Knowledge of Medals or Instructions for those, who apply themselves to the study of Medalls both Ancient and Modern. Excerpts from a work titled Memoirs and Observations...Made in a late Journey through the Empire of China...By Louis le Compte Jesuit includes commentary on rivers and modes of fishing in China; and an entry titled Philosophical Transactions, dated 1696, records "An Anatomical account of Some Remarkable Things, found on the dissection of a Woman, who dyed of Dropsie...By Dr. Charles Preston."
